The piece Hoffman has written for this year’s festival, Telegraph was inspired by the Morse Code. “The motif of the piece is based on the letters A, E, A in Morse Code, or . – . . -,” Hoffman said. “It was a lot of fun weaving the motif in and out of the three instrumental parts which are oboe, clarinet and bassoon. I wanted to score specifically for woodwind trio as it lends itself so well to these sorts of rhythms and a bit of whimsy, as well!,” he added.
Marc is a composer of classical, choral, jazz, film, theatre, and pop music. As a jazz pianist and vocalist, Marc performs over 150 dates a year as a soloist and with his trio at concerts, festivals, clubs, and otherevents.
