Pianist & vocalist recognized
January 26, 2014 (Salisbury, NC) – Pianist and vocalist Marc Hoffman has been awarded the GigMasters’ Best of 2013. The awards are given to performers who received at least 5 reviews with 4 stars or more during 2013.
“I am very excited to have been recognized by GigMasters this year,” Hoffman says. “They have been a great source of performance opportunities over the past few years and I look forward to a continued working relationship.”
GigMasters is a one stop source for anyone planning an event and in need of performers, caterers, venue, etc.. Their database of client-reviewed entertainers and event vendors is available on their site. Clients contact vendors directly and request bids. After events, clients are encouraged to review vendors.
“I have been associated with GigMasters for several years and my yearly bookings have increased each year,” Hoffman added. “I look forward to 2014.”
Marc’s recent performances include performances by the Lake Norman Symphony, the Salisbury Symphony, an annual piano concert at Ashe Civic Center in W. Jefferson, NC, and an invitation-only concert in Charleston, SC. As a soloist and with his trio Marc performs 75+ events each year including festivals, concerts, private engagements and recitals. In addition, Marc recently scored the films, “Chancing Dreams” and “40 Fears” for Charlotte-based Dalliance Films. Previous film work includes the score for “The Mill”. Marc has been music supervisor for several films and was music historian for the Hugh Hudson film, “Revolution”.

About Marc Hoffman:
Marc Hoffman received a degree in composition from the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied film composition at USC. He also attended The Dartington International Summer School of Music in Devon, England. His composition teachers have included John Corigliano, Leo Arnaud, Neil Hefti, and Sherwood Shaffer. Marc performs across the US and abroad, as a soloist and with his jazz trio. A member of BMI and the American Composer’s Forum, he is also founder and artistic director of the Salisbury School of Music. Marc lives in Salisbury, NC with is wife, Anne, and their daughter August.
